Don't just look at the house.
Surrounding areas to properties are almost as important as the property itself. You could find yourself the perfect house but if it is in the wrong place for you then it should largely influence your decision to buy or rent. An example would be; a family with 2 young children find their perfect home in the middle of the countryside, but the nearest school may be 10 miles away, which would mean a 20 mile round trip each day. This should hugely influence their decision on the property.
